The population density in the county is 200 people per mi2 (79 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of coronavirus cases has increased up to 64K today, Kent County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Delaware.
New Castle County and Sussex County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 187K and 78K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Sussex County and New Castle County have the lowest count of COVID-19 positive people in Delaware. Together with the latter ones, Kent County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
