Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in India, the virus has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.
Even though the total number of COVID-19 positive people has reached 781 today, North Sikkim still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of Sikkim.
East Sikkim and South Sikkim are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 16K and 6,2K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while West Sikkim and South Sikkim have the lowest count of coronavirus patients in Sikkim. Together with the latter ones, North Sikkim’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
