Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in India, the infection has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.
Even though the total number of confirmed cases has reached 781 today, North Sikkim still has the lowest count of cases and fatalities in the state of Sikkim.
East Sikkim and South Sikkim are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 16K and 6,2K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while West Sikkim and South Sikkim have the lowest number of COVID-19 positive people in Sikkim. Together with the latter ones, North Sikkim’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
