The population density in the county is 15 people per mi2 (5 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of confirmed cases has reached 197 today, Storey County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Nevada.
Clark County and Washoe County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 671K and 128K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Esmeralda County and Eureka County have the lowest count of confirmed cases in Nevada. Together with the latter ones, Storey County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
