The Louisiana state is facing COVID-19 along with the whole U.S. that still tries hard to slow the pandemic’s rise. According to the official data, about 434K COVID-19 positive cases have been reported as of today, along with about 9,8K deaths. Figures have increased by 740 cases in a day.

In Louisiana, the highest number of inhabitants affected by virus can be seen in Jefferson Parish and East Baton Rouge Parish. The risk of infection is average as the population density is 93 people per mi2 (34 people per km2) but the numbers are far from positive. In a week, the overall number of COVID-19 positive people in Louisiana will reach 437K cases. Still, the rate of epidemics spread is informed to be 9,3K per 100K people that is considered to be average among other states but it’s early to conclude that the situation is improving.
