The coronavirus outbreak, which began in China, has sickened more than 676,6M people worldwide and about 103,8M people in the U.S. New York state with its high population density of 1,006 people per mi2 (388 people per km2) has the largest number of positive cases. It now has more COVID-19 patients than any other state in the country.

As of today, New York had about 461K confirmed cases and a death toll of about 3,9K, according to the state’s official count. Furthermore, the infection rate per 100,000 population is around 43K that is the highest in the U.S. New York City and its suburban counties - Suffolk, Nassau, and Westchester counties - are responsible for the highest percentage of the statewide case count.

The state is the epicentre of the pandemic and the key things that the residents can do is stay home and practice social distancing to quell the spread of this invisible but strong enemy. You should be aware of your protection measures and the symptoms of coronavirus.
