Since the first coronavirus case was confirmed in India, the infection has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 419 people per km2 so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of COVID-19 positive people has increased up to 6K today, Barnala still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of Punjab.
Ludhiana and Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 88K and 69K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Tarn Taran and Moga have the lowest number of COVID-19 positive people in Punjab. Together with the latter ones, Barnala’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
