Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in India, the virus has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 488 people per km2 so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of COVID-19 positive people has reached 13K today, Rupnagar still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Punjab.

Ludhiana and Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 88K and 69K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Barnala and Tarn Taran have the lowest count of coronavirus patients in Punjab. Together with the latter ones, Rupnagar’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your area has a low number of coronavirus patients, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
