Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in India, the outbreak has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.
Even though the total count of coronavirus patients has risen up to 10K today, Pithoragarh still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Uttarakhand.
Dehradun and Haridwar are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 112K and 51K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Bageshwar and Champawat have the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in Uttarakhand. Together with the latter ones, Pithoragarh’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
