Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 38 people per mi2 (15 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total number of confirmed cases has increased up to 15K today, Santa Cruz County still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of Arizona.

Maricopa County and Pima County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 1,2M and 228K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Greenlee County and La Paz County have the lowest count of COVID-19 positive people in Arizona. Together with the latter ones, Santa Cruz County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your area has a low number of COVID-19 positive people, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
