Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 160 people per mi2 (60 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of coronavirus patients has risen up to 42 today, Dukes County still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of Massachusetts.

Middlesex County and Suffolk County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 437K and 268K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Nantucket County and Franklin County have the lowest number of confirmed cases in Massachusetts. Together with the latter ones, Dukes County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your county has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
