The population density in the county is 160 people per mi2 (60 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of confirmed cases has risen up to 42 today, Dukes County still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of Massachusetts.

Middlesex County and Suffolk County are the state's leaders in coronavirus cases with 372K and 235K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Nantucket County and Franklin County have the lowest number of coronavirus cases in Massachusetts. Together with the latter ones, Dukes County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your county has a low number of COVID-19 positive people, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
