Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 212 people per mi2 (82 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total number of coronavirus patients has increased up to 13 today, Nantucket County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Massachusetts.

Middlesex County and Suffolk County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 44K and 36K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Dukes County and Franklin County have the lowest count of COVID-19 positive people in Massachusetts. Together with the latter ones, Nantucket County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your county has a low number of coronavirus patients, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
