Since the first coronavirus patient was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 97 people per mi2 (37 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of COVID-19 positive people has risen up to 2,5K today, Franklin County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Massachusetts.

Middlesex County and Essex County are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 133K and 96K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Nantucket County and Dukes County have the lowest count of coronavirus patients in Massachusetts. Together with the latter ones, Franklin County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your county has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
