Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in India, the infection has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.
Even though the total number of COVID-19 cases has risen up to 9,7K today, Gajapati still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Odisha.
Khordha and Cuttack are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 175K and 95K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Deogarh and Kandhamal have the lowest number of confirmed cases in Odisha. Together with the latter ones, Gajapati’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
