Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 17 people per mi2 (7 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of COVID-19 positive people has risen up to 261 today, Jefferson County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Washington.
King County and Pierce County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 72K and 30K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Wahkiakum County and San Juan County have the lowest number of confirmed cases in Washington. Together with the latter ones, Jefferson County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your area has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
