Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 11 people per mi2 (4 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall count of confirmed cases has increased up to 554 today, Klickitat County still has the lowest count of cases and fatalities in the state of Washington.
King County and Pierce County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 72K and 30K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Wahkiakum County and San Juan County have the lowest count of COVID-19 cases in Washington. Together with the latter ones, Klickitat County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of coronavirus patients, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
