The population density in the county is 95 people per mi2 (37 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of coronavirus patients has reached 7K today, Sagadahoc County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Maine.
Cumberland County and York County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 66K and 52K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Piscataquis County and Washington County have the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in Maine. Together with the latter ones, Sagadahoc County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
