Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the outbreak has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 95 people per mi2 (37 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of confirmed cases has reached 2,4K today, Sagadahoc County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Maine.

Cumberland County and York County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 24K and 20K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Piscataquis County and Lincoln County have the lowest count of confirmed cases in Maine. Together with the latter ones, Sagadahoc County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
