Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 49 people per mi2 (19 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall count of COVID-19 cases has risen up to 6,4K today, Sullivan County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Indiana.
Marion County and Lake County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 269K and 134K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Ohio County and Union County have the lowest number of COVID-19 positive people in Indiana. Together with the latter ones, Sullivan County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of COVID-19 positive people, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
