Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.
Even though the overall count of coronavirus patients has risen up to 49 today, Yakutat still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of Alaska.
Anchorage and Fairbanks North Star are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 17K and 3,5K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Haines and Aleutians East have the lowest number of coronavirus patients in Alaska. Together with the latter ones, Yakutat’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your area has a low number of coronavirus cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices. How to protect yourself from coronavirus? What are coronavirus symptoms?
