Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.

Even though the overall count of coronavirus patients has reached 983 today, Yakutat still has the lowest count of cases and fatalities in the state of Alaska.

Anchorage and Matanuska-Susitna are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 124K and 41K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Haines and Aleutians East have the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in Alaska. Together with the latter ones, Yakutat’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your county has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
