Since the first coronavirus patient was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.
Even though the total number of coronavirus patients has risen up to 983 today, Yakutat still has the lowest number of cases and fatal cases in the state of Alaska.
Anchorage and Matanuska-Susitna are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 124K and 41K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Haines and Aleutians East have the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in Alaska. Together with the latter ones, Yakutat’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
