The U.S. government and health care system are implementing various efforts to slow the spread of the new coronavirus, known as SARS-CoV-2. COVID-19 keeps all people on alert in Beech Mountain and today, the virus still covers the territory of Watauga County. Its population density is informed to be 163 people per mi2 (63 people per km2) so the risk of being infected is below average.
Wake County and Mecklenburg County counties are still the most-affected counties in the state.
