Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 30 people per mi2 (10 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total number of confirmed cases has risen up to 2,8K today, Graham County still has the lowest number of cases and fatal cases in the state of North Carolina.
Wake County and Mecklenburg County are the state's leaders in coronavirus cases with 374K and 348K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Tyrrell County and Hyde County have the lowest count of coronavirus cases in North Carolina. Together with the latter ones, Graham County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
