Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the outbreak has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 66 people per mi2 (25 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total number of COVID-19 cases has reached 4,7K today, Gallia County still has the lowest count of cases and fatalities in the state of Ohio.

Franklin County and Cuyahoga County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 180K and 169K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Vinton County and Harrison County have the lowest number of confirmed cases in Ohio. Together with the latter ones, Gallia County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
