Since the first coronavirus patient was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 36 people per mi2 (14 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall count of COVID-19 positive people has increased up to 217 today, Grand Isle County still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of Vermont.

Chittenden County and Rutland County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 7,5K and 2,3K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Essex County and Orange County have the lowest count of COVID-19 positive people in Vermont. Together with the latter ones, Grand Isle County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of COVID-19 positive people, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
