Since the first coronavirus patient was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 36 people per mi2 (14 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total number of COVID-19 cases has increased up to 1,3K today, Grand Isle County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Vermont.
Chittenden County and Rutland County are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 40K and 17K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Essex County and Lamoille County have the lowest number of coronavirus patients in Vermont. Together with the latter ones, Grand Isle County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
