Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 42 people per mi2 (16 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of coronavirus cases has increased up to 1K today, Orange County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Vermont.

Chittenden County and Rutland County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 9,7K and 2,9K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Grand Isle County and Essex County have the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in Vermont. Together with the latter ones, Orange County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
