Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 42 people per mi2 (16 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of coronavirus patients has risen up to 5,1K today, Orange County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Vermont.

Chittenden County and Rutland County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 40K and 17K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Grand Isle County and Essex County have the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in Vermont. Together with the latter ones, Orange County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your county has a low number of coronavirus patients, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
