The population density in the county is 53 people per mi2 (20 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of COVID-19 cases has risen up to 4,4K today, Lamoille County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Vermont.
Chittenden County and Rutland County are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 40K and 17K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Grand Isle County and Essex County have the lowest count of coronavirus patients in Vermont. Together with the latter ones, Lamoille County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
