Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 2 people per mi2 (1 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of confirmed cases has increased up to 812 today, Mora County still has the lowest count of cases and fatal cases in the state of New Mexico.

Bernalillo County and Doña Ana County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 157K and 65K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Harding County and Catron County have the lowest count of confirmed cases in New Mexico. Together with the latter ones, Mora County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
