Since the first coronavirus case was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 74 people per mi2 (29 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of coronavirus cases has reached 11K today, Worcester County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Maryland.
Montgomery County and Prince George's County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 246K and 229K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Kent County and Somerset County have the lowest count of confirmed cases in Maryland. Together with the latter ones, Worcester County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
