Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 160 people per mi2 (61 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of COVID-19 positive people has increased up to 31K today, Cape May County still has the lowest count of cases and fatal cases in the state of New Jersey.
Bergen County and Essex County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 327K and 292K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Salem County and Warren County have the lowest count of confirmed cases in New Jersey. Together with the latter ones, Cape May County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your county has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
