Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the outbreak has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 14 people per mi2 (5 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of COVID-19 cases has risen up to 2 today, Carbon County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Utah.

Salt Lake County and Utah County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 411K and 226K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Grand County and Garfield County have the lowest count of confirmed cases in Utah. Together with the latter ones, Carbon County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your area has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
