The U.S. government and health care system are implementing various efforts to slow the spread of the new coronavirus, known as SARS-CoV-2. COVID-19 pandemic keeps all people on alert in Elk City and today, the virus still spreads across Montgomery County. Its population density is considered to be 55 people per mi2 (21 people per km2) so the risk of being infected is below average. As for the state, the Kansas officials mentioned about 79K coronavirus cases, an increase of 78 cases from yesterday.

Johnson County and Sedgwick County counties are still the most-affected counties in the state.
