Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in India, the outbreak has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.
Even though the total number of COVID-19 positive people has increased up to 18K today, Dakshin Dinajpur still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of West Bengal.
North 24 Parganas and Kolkata are the state's leaders in coronavirus cases with 329K and 323K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Alipurduar and Purulia have the lowest count of coronavirus cases in West Bengal. Together with the latter ones, Dakshin Dinajpur’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
