Since the first coronavirus case was confirmed in India, the outbreak has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.
Even though the total number of COVID-19 positive people has increased up to 19K today, Purulia still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of West Bengal.
North 24 Parganas and Kolkata are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 329K and 323K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Alipurduar and Dakshin Dinajpur have the lowest number of coronavirus patients in West Bengal. Together with the latter ones, Purulia’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
