Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in India, the disease has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.
Even though the total count of confirmed cases has reached 33K today, Malda still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of West Bengal.
North 24 Parganas and Kolkata are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 329K and 323K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Alipurduar and Dakshin Dinajpur have the lowest number of coronavirus patients in West Bengal. Together with the latter ones, Malda’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
