Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the outbreak has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 43 people per mi2 (17 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of COVID-19 cases has increased up to 1,5K today, Hardee County still has the lowest number of cases and fatal cases in the state of Florida.

Miami-Dade County and Broward County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 179K and 81K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Liberty County and Gilchrist County have the lowest number of confirmed cases in Florida. Together with the latter ones, Hardee County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
