Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 1 people per mi2 (0 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall count of coronavirus cases has risen up to 195 today, Jackson County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Colorado.
El Paso County and Denver County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 237K and 225K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Hinsdale County and Mineral County have the lowest count of COVID-19 cases in Colorado. Together with the latter ones, Jackson County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your county has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
