Since the first coronavirus patient was confirmed in the U.S., the outbreak has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 3 people per mi2 (1 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total number of confirmed cases has risen up to 517 today, Perkins County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Nebraska.
Douglas County and Lancaster County are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 141K and 73K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Arthur County and McPherson County have the lowest count of coronavirus patients in Nebraska. Together with the latter ones, Perkins County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your county has a low number of coronavirus patients, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
