Since the first coronavirus case was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 22 people per mi2 (8 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of COVID-19 cases has reached 1,5K today, Sabine County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Texas.
Harris County and Bexar County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 1,3M and 699K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Kenedy County and Borden County have the lowest number of COVID-19 positive people in Texas. Together with the latter ones, Sabine County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your county has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
