Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 27 people per mi2 (10 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total number of confirmed cases has risen up to 4,4K today, Lafayette County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Wisconsin.

Milwaukee County and Dane County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 342K and 179K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Florence County and Iron County have the lowest count of confirmed cases in Wisconsin. Together with the latter ones, Lafayette County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of coronavirus cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
