Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 125 people per mi2 (48 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall count of coronavirus patients has increased up to 2K today, Montgomery County still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of New York.

Suffolk County and Nassau County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 120K and 108K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Hamilton County and Schuyler County have the lowest count of COVID-19 cases in New York. Together with the latter ones, Montgomery County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your area has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
