Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 99 people per mi2 (38 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total number of coronavirus patients has increased up to 4,5K today, Tioga County still has the lowest count of cases and fatalities in the state of New York.

Suffolk County and Nassau County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 230K and 208K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Hamilton County and Schuyler County have the lowest count of COVID-19 positive people in New York. Together with the latter ones, Tioga County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your county has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
