Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 56 people per mi2 (22 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of coronavirus cases has reached 4,4K today, Schuyler County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of New York.

Suffolk County and Nassau County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 570K and 551K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Hamilton County and Yates County have the lowest number of confirmed cases in New York. Together with the latter ones, Schuyler County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of coronavirus patients, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
