Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 30 people per mi2 (11 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of COVID-19 cases has reached 126 today, Kanabec County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Minnesota.

Hennepin County and Ramsey County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 27K and 11K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Cook County and Kittson County have the lowest count of COVID-19 positive people in Minnesota. Together with the latter ones, Kanabec County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your area has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
