Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 16 people per mi2 (6 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of confirmed cases has increased up to 3,3K today, Pope County still has the lowest number of cases and fatalities in the state of Minnesota.
Hennepin County and Ramsey County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 326K and 134K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Cook County and Lake of the Woods County have the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in Minnesota. Together with the latter ones, Pope County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of coronavirus patients, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
