Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 16 people per mi2 (6 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of COVID-19 positive people has risen up to 10 today, Pope County still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of Minnesota.

Hennepin County and Ramsey County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 12K and 4,8K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Cook County and Kittson County have the lowest count of confirmed cases in Minnesota. Together with the latter ones, Pope County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
