Since the first coronavirus patient was confirmed in the U.S., the outbreak has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 2 people per mi2 (1 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall count of coronavirus cases has risen up to 927 today, Lake of the Woods County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Minnesota.

Hennepin County and Ramsey County are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 386K and 160K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Cook County and Traverse County have the lowest count of coronavirus patients in Minnesota. Together with the latter ones, Lake of the Woods County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
