The population density in the county is 2 people per mi2 (1 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of coronavirus cases has increased up to 927 today, Lake of the Woods County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Minnesota.
Hennepin County and Ramsey County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 386K and 160K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Cook County and Traverse County have the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in Minnesota. Together with the latter ones, Lake of the Woods County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
