Since the first coronavirus patient was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 25 people per mi2 (9 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall count of COVID-19 positive people has increased up to 4,3K today, Sibley County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Minnesota.
Hennepin County and Ramsey County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 386K and 160K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Cook County and Lake of the Woods County have the lowest count of COVID-19 positive people in Minnesota. Together with the latter ones, Sibley County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of coronavirus patients, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
