Since the first coronavirus case was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 23 people per mi2 (8 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of coronavirus cases has increased up to 2,7K today, Brown County still has the lowest number of cases and fatal cases in the state of Illinois.

Cook County and DuPage County are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 1,4M and 274K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Pope County and Putnam County have the lowest count of coronavirus patients in Illinois. Together with the latter ones, Brown County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
