Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the disease has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 23 people per mi2 (8 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of COVID-19 positive people has reached 2,8K today, Brown County still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of Illinois.
Cook County and DuPage County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 positive people with 1,5M and 276K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Pope County and Putnam County have the lowest count of COVID-19 positive people in Illinois. Together with the latter ones, Brown County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your county has a low number of coronavirus patients, the virus is still active. Please remain vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
