Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 21 people per mi2 (8 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of confirmed cases has reached 1,3K today, Scott County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of Illinois.
Cook County and DuPage County are the state's leaders in coronavirus patients with 1,3M and 236K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Pope County and Hardin County have the lowest count of coronavirus patients in Illinois. Together with the latter ones, Scott County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
