Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the outbreak has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 21 people per mi2 (8 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of confirmed cases has risen up to 490 today, Stark County still has the lowest count of cases and fatal cases in the state of Illinois.
Cook County and DuPage County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 427K and 68K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Pope County and Hardin County have the lowest number of confirmed cases in Illinois. Together with the latter ones, Stark County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of confirmed cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
