Since the first coronavirus case was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has hit all 50 states. However, some regions have coped to keep the numbers low.
The population density in the county is 63 people per mi2 (24 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall count of COVID-19 cases has risen up to 3,1K today, Amador County still has the lowest count of cases and fatal cases in the state of California.
Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 1,1M and 269K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Alpine County and Sierra County have the lowest number of confirmed cases in California. Together with the latter ones, Amador County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
Please note, even if your region has a low number of COVID-19 positive people, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
