Since the first COVID-19 positive person was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has affected all 50 states. However, some regions have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 63 people per mi2 (24 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of COVID-19 positive people has risen up to 11K today, Amador County still has the lowest number of cases and fatal cases in the state of California.

Los Angeles County and San Diego County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 3,5M and 1M patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Alpine County and Sierra County have the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in California. Together with the latter ones, Amador County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
