Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the infection has affected all 50 states. However, some areas have managed to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 23 people per mi2 (9 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total number of coronavirus patients has increased up to 180 today, Del Norte County still has the lowest number of cases and deaths in the state of California.

Los Angeles County and Riverside County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 305K and 68K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Alpine County and Sierra County have the lowest number of confirmed cases in California. Together with the latter ones, Del Norte County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of coronavirus patients, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and keep up with good hygiene practices.
