Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the U.S., the virus has hit all 50 states. However, some areas have coped to keep the numbers low.

The population density in the county is 23 people per mi2 (9 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the overall number of confirmed cases has increased up to 4,5K today, Del Norte County still has the lowest number of cases and fatal cases in the state of California.

Los Angeles County and San Diego County are the state's leaders in confirmed cases with 2,5M and 679K patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Alpine County and Sierra County have the lowest count of confirmed cases in California. Together with the latter ones, Del Norte County’s per capita infection rate is considered below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.

Please note, even if your region has a low number of COVID-19 cases, the virus is still active. Please stay vigilant and continue with good hygiene practices.
