The population density in the county is 7 people per mi2 (3 people per km2) so the risk of infection is below average. Even though the total count of coronavirus patients has increased up to 4,3K today, Plumas County still has the lowest count of cases and deaths in the state of California.
Los Angeles County and San Diego County are the state's leaders in COVID-19 cases with 3,7M and 1,1M patients with confirmed infection accordingly, while Alpine County and Sierra County have the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in California. Together with the latter ones, Plumas County’s per capita infection rate is regarded below average, but the coronavirus still remains a threat to public safety.
